ABA Therapy for All Ages

We know that living with autism can be challenging requiring special care and attention. Each child who comes to us is unique. There is no one size fits all solution.

We want to help you and your child navigate a world with autism. We will work with you to develop an individualized program that fits with your busy lives, while meeting your child's needs. We work with children of all ages and levels of development.

Our greatest reward is watching the progress of your child. It's why we are in this field and nothing makes us more proud than to be part of the success.

Results are everything to us.

ABA therapy is an evidenced-based treatment proven effective for children with autism. The goal of ABA therapy is to teach your child HOW to learn.  Skills are taught systematically and with repetition. Through teaching core skills across different areas of development, your child will learn to better engage in life and adapt to challenges.  ABA therapy is most effective when delivered a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Parent Involvement sessions are an important aspect of all of our services.  We will work with you to help you support your child's learning outside of ABA sessions.

Early Childhood Services

We use an Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) approach to teach early learners, up to age 4, through play.  ESDM is an evidence-based approach grounded in ABA focused on developing language and social skills using a play-based approach.

Our Early Childhood Services are offered in a one-to-one format in our centre as well as in home and daycare settings.

School Aged Services

Children with skill deficits across domains of learning (communication, cognitive, social, play, self-regulation, daily living skills) will benefit from our School Aged Services.  We create a structured sessions where teaching occurs through various activities.  This creates variation in learning opportunities for transitions.  The use of visual supports are incorporated as well as behaviour management strategies.

The key to a successful ABA program is collaboration with all individuals in a child's life.  We work with families, schools and other service providers to promote continuity of learning.

School Aged Services are offered in a one-to-one format our centre as well as in home and community settings.

Groups

For children who have skill deficits in one or two domains of learning, such as social skills or self-regulation), we offer group services.

Children are matched with similar-skilled peers and skill development is individualized to the group.

Group services are offered in our centre.

Behaviour Consultation

We aim to be as effective as possible. If you are looking for one session per week, our Behaviour Consultative services will be the best fit for you.  Through this service, we work with you to develop and implement strategies which will best support your child and promote learning in key areas.

Following assessment, we will work with you to decide the best option of therapy for your child.

How Does This Process Work?

We know that whether you're a parent just starting your journey with autism, or if you've been involved in services before, it can be overwhelming.  We do what we can to create a smooth process and support you every step of the way.

Step 1: Assessment
Our service begins with a comprehensive functional assessment to determine goals and priorities. We'll start with interviewing you and other key people in your child's life. We may want to observe your child at home, school, or day care in order to better understand them.  Next, we'll work with your child directly to determine their strengths and areas of needs.  The assessment process gives us the information we need to develop a comprehensive intervention plan.

Step 2: Plan Development
Once we have the required information, we then develop an intervention plan which outlines your child's goals.  Goals include skills we will be teaching your child as well as strategies for responding to challenging behaviour.  Programs are designed across learning domains and are in consideration of your family priorities. The intervention plan is an evolving document that changes based on your child's current needs and family situation.

Step 3: Teaching
Next up, the fun part! We are ready to start teaching your child.  We will occur multiple times a week on a schedule we've determined together.

Over time, your child's needs change.  The number of therapy hours will be recommended based on their current level of needs.

We Aim To Be Your Partner Long-Term

During your time working with us, we'll constantly monitor the effectiveness of our programs to ensure your child is progressing.

We'll meet with you regularly for feedback and to review results.

Your child has the right to effective quality service and every minute counts! We work together to achieve the best possible results.

Choosing Home,  Community or Centre-Based Therapy

We offer the ability for your child to learn in the comfort of their home as well as in the community or in our new centre.  All settings provide valuable opportunities and play a critical role in your child's development:

Ultimately, selecting an environment depends on which is best suited for your child's unique needs.

The Benefits Of A Home-Based Program

Having us come into your home to work with your child is the most popular form of therapy and offers some obvious advantages.

First, since we're coming to you, there is no travel added to your busy life and no accommodations need to be made other than selecting a time when you are home.

Conducting therapy in the comfort of your own home provides your child with a relaxed and safe environment they are used to. This makes it much easier for your child to learn and retain the skills being taught.

If you choose to be home during the teaching sessions, you'll be able to watch and listen as the therapist interacts with your child. This leads to a great learning environment for you as well.

One final benefit of working in your home, is that it makes the lessons seem less formal and more generalized, fitting into the everyday life of your child.

The Benefits Of A Community-Based Program

If your child is ready for it, providing therapy sessions out in your community is an excellent opportunity to socialize in real world environments.

We offer ABA services in the community to help your child generalize the skills they are learning at home. It is important your child is able to apply new skills in a variety of settings and with various people, however this tends to be very difficult for children with autism. This is why we build in generalization early on and at every opportunity.

We will also work collaboratively with your child's school, extracurricular programs and any other community partners to maximize your child's success.

If your child is just starting out, home-based programs are a good starting point and with progression, we can start to take them out into the community.

The Benefits of a Centre-Based Program

There are times when it is not possible for a child to receive therapy in their home.  For this reason, we offer another option for families, our centre-based service.

Our centre-based service offers your child a home away from home.  A place where they can learn and generalize skills while offering you the flexibility to accommodate therapy into your busy lives.  It's a quaint and cozy setting, a place you will be happy to leave your child.  You're welcome to arrange a visit any time!

If all of these options sound great to you, a blend of hours per week in-home, out in the community and in our clinic can also be accommodated.
